Autism advocates, Community Autism Resources and Education Systems (CARES), are hosting their 2nd Annual Au-some Golf Tournament to raise awareness and funds to train more high-quality Applied Behavior Analysts and technicians in the state of West Virginia.  This year’s event is chaired by parent-advocate Jared Clonch of St. Albans who learned of his own son’s potential autism diagnosis while attending the tournament last September.

“It’s almost impossible to get the help that you need in West Virginia.” says Clonch.

This year’s event had a goal of $40,000 and has exceeded that goal pre-event, showcasing the power of community and business, and highlighting the need West Virginia families affected by autism have for therapy services in the mountain state.

Covid transmission precautions will be taken throughout the day, masks, social distancing, hand sanitation stations are some of the measures being implemented. The need to have discussions about the lack of Applied Behavior Analysis services still remains, and the need to fund our children’s futures is still critical.
