Business community members may benefit from attending the Business After Hours Event with the Chamber of Commerce of the Mid-Ohio Valley at American National University, (www.an.edu; 304-699-3005) on Tuesday, Feb. 17. The event will take place at the Parkersburg Campus located at 110 Park Center Drive, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The event will be a great networking opportunity for employers, business owners and others in the business community. The event will be all about eating, relaxing and having fun. Refreshment will include all sorts of sweets, fried appetizers, and everybody’s favorite, a chocolate & caramel fountain. Non-member are welcome with a $20 fee.
Looking for a quick on-ramp to a medical career? American National University’s new Medical Office Professional program combines our decades of experience in career education with our knowledge of the latest skills and technology to get you into the healthcare workforce in a year or less.
“The Medical Office Professional program gives students the kind of hands-on training in health care administration procedures, office technology, and basic clinical skills needed to enter the exciting health care field,” said Larry Sloter Parkersburg Campus Director. “In just 40 weeks under our accelerated schedule, students can complete the program and enter the workforce, or transfer into one of our associate’s degree programs to further their education.”
Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for the National Certified Medical Office Assistant exam, administered by the National Center for Competency Testing. “At ANU, we have trained health care administrative professionals for many years,” said Diane Morey, Ph.D., vice president for academic affairs. “The Medical Office Professional program represents the culmination of months of research into the most essential knowledge and skills for success in this constantly growing career field.”
Movetta Hall is just one of hundreds of graduates to achieve success after completing their allied health diploma. “I kept hearing a lot of good reviews about it,” Movetta said. “I couldn’t have asked for any better…I wouldn’t be where I’m at if it wasn’t for coming to the College or [ANU].” After receiving her diploma in 1999, Movetta was hired by a local medical practice, and today is the office manager for a busy family practice clinic.
