The East River Mountain Town Band will perform an evening of music in the Pipestem State Park Amphitheater May 23, 2015, beginning at 8 p.m. This town band entertains with an eclectic mix of classical, popular and patriotic concert band music. The ensemble of 60-plus members is directed by Concord University graduate and retired Mercer County music teacher Mel Saunders. Admission is free and open to the public to enjoy a nice evening of live music outdoors this Memorial Weekend. Pipestem State Park is located in Summers County between Athens and Hinton on Route 20.
