Two business programs at West Virginia State University (WVSU) have had their accreditation reaffirmed by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
The bachelor of science in business administration and the bachelor of arts in economics have had their accreditation reaffirmed for another 10 years following a site visit by a team of evaluators from the ACBSP in September 2015.
“In today’s complex and challenging business environment, high performance employees are always in demand,” said Dr. David Bejou, dean of the College of Business and Social Sciences at WVSU. “Students graduating from our accredited program are fully skilled, prepared to solve multi-disciplinary problems, and ready to make real-world management decisions.”
The business program and economics program at West Virginia State University have had specialized accreditation through ACBSP since 2005. As part of this accreditation status, every 10 years programs go through an extensive self-study process that leads to a campus visit by ACBSP site evaluators.
Founded in 1988, the mission of ACBSP is to promote continuous improvement and recognize excellence in the accreditation of business education programs around the world. For more information, visit www.acbsp.org.
In addition, Best Value Schools has also recognized WVSU’s bachelor of science in business administration degree as the third best in the country among small colleges.
The Business Research Guide also recognized the University’s Department of Business Administration as the 12th best in the country in its rankings of the 50 most innovative small college business departments.
