Special guest for the July Generation Charleston Gain Prosper Succeed (GPS) breakfast is Alpha Technologies President Doug Tate. The event will be held at the West Virginia Regional Technology Park, building 6000, at 8 am, Wednesday, July 13.
Tate was selected as the SBA West Virginia 2016 Veteran-Owned Small Business of the Year. Tate enlisted in the United States Army upon graduating high school. During his tenure he obtained the rank of Sergeant First Class. Injuries sustained during service forced Tate into medical retirement.
After the Army, he worked as an IT consultant in Texas before returning home to West Virginia. Alpha Technologies, established in 2000, was born out of Tate’s realization for the need for more IT services in West Virginia. The business is based in Putnam County.Â

GPS is a series of breakfast forums providing Generation Charleston members access and intimate conversations with some of the Kanawha Valley’s top business leaders. Guests share career experiences, leadership advice and offer fresh perspectives on timely topics.Â
Attendance is limited to 15 Generation Charleston members to encourage a comfortable and candid conversation.
