Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin and Wild, Wonderful West Virginia today announced the statewide launch of the new #MyWV campaign. This campaign – designed to share the personal experiences that make the Mountain State wild and wonderful – is aimed at promoting travel around the state to support local communities and businesses.
“Across the Mountain State, the travel and tourism industry plays a vital role in our communities, with wild and wonderful destinations that remain open and full of exciting adventures. I encourage West Virginians to support our communities and small businesses by traveling and experiencing all our home state has to offer,” Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin said. “This is one important way to continue helping those affected by recent flooding, and keeping West Virginia strong.”
The GoToWV team has been travelling around the Mountain State, exploring the many outdoor recreation areas, local restaurants and businesses, and community events. These adventures are chronicled in the new #MyWV video and photo campaign found on the Wild, Wonderful West Virginia Facebook page.
“The #MyWV campaign is all about what places and experiences make the Mountain State special to you,” Commissioner of Tourism Amy Shuler Goodwin said. “Whether your West Virginia is behind the wheel of an ATV, zip lining through the trees, or relaxing in one of our State Parks, bring your GoPro or camera and share those experiences with the world!”
Wild, Wonderful West Virginia encourages locals and visitors to share the people and places that make their West Virginia special by tagging their photos, videos and posts with #MyWV. Video submissions will be eligible to receive a new, limited edition #MyWV shirt.
