West Virginia State Parks have announced plans for the first-ever West Virginia State Parks Bridal Expo, scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016, from 1 to 3 p.m. at these participating lodge parks: Blackwater Falls, Cacapon Resort, Chief Logan Lodge, Hawks Nest, North Bend, Pipestem Resort, Twin Falls Resort and Tygart Lake.
The events are free and present excellent opportunities to tour the available wedding space at West Virginia State Parks lodges. Local vendors, including bridal and tuxedo shops, specialty bakeries, florists, DJs and photographers, will also be on-site to meet with brides-to-be on special accommodations.
“While all five of these venues offer amenities specific to their location, they all share the same goal: ensuring that a bride’s special day is beautiful and affordable,” said West Virginia State Parks District Administrator Paul Redford. “We’re excited to bring in local vendors and provide visiting brides with an opportunity to connect with area establishments. We hope that once they visit the beautiful facilities and outdoor settings offered at our state parks, they will see that weddings can – and do – happen here.”
As an added incentive, those who attend the Bridal Expo are eligible for a special 50 percent off lodge room rate to give expo attendees more time to explore the park and sample the amenities and activities offered.
Any attendee who books a state parks venue on-site will receive a certificate good for a two-night weekend stay for two after their wedding at participating state park lodges.
