WVU Medicine recently announced the opening of WVU Medicine Infectious Diseases, operated by Berkeley Medical Center.
The practice includes Matthew Simmons, M.D., infectious disease specialist, and Sarah Cross, P.A.-C., physician assistant. Both are members of the Berkeley Medical Center medical staff.
Dr. Simmons is a graduate of the WVU School of Medicine where he also completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in infectious diseases. He is board certified in both internal medicine and infectious diseases. Cross is a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina where she did specialized training in infectious disease medicine.
Simmons and Cross specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of all types of infectious diseases with specialized knowledge in immunology, epidemiology and infection control. Specialty services include travel medicine, vaccine clinic, STI testing, lyme disease, Hepatitis C, HIV, Hepatitis B and PREP (pre-exposure prophylaxis for HIV).
