West Liberty University will soon open a Speech and Hearing Clinic that will offer hearing healthcare services to the public at a reasonable cost.

“We will begin to offer these clinical services this spring. Some of the services include otoscopy, hearing evaluations and tympanometry. We look forward to meeting this community need and providing our students with additional clinical experience,” said Dr. Stephanie Bradley, Director of the Speech Pathology and Audiology Program at WLU.

Initially, the clinic will be available for hearing services accommodating patients ages 6 and up. Hours of operation will be Wednesdays from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. with an opening date of March 13, 2019.

“We believe that our community is in great need of these services especially in our location,” said Bradley, who joined the university as program director in 2015.

“As we plan for a new master’s degree program in speech-language pathology, this clinic will function as a starting point for student education and experience in a rewarding, empowering profession,” Bradley added. “Speech and language services will be added in the future.”

Bradley earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology at WLU and a degree of Doctor of Audiology from The University of Akron. She completed her doctoral externship through the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

She formerly worked as a clinical audiologist at Pittsburgh Ear Associates within Allegheny General Hospital, Beltone Hearing Care, and as a territory sales representative for Signia, formerly Siemens Hearing Instruments. Bradley holds a West Virginia and Pennsylvania license in audiology and is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, American Academy of Audiology, and WV Academy of Audiology.

The new clinic is currently located on the third floor of Campbell Hall of Health Sciences. Appointments are necessary and may be made by calling Michele Crow, the administrative secretary, at 304.336.8108.

WLU’s Department of Health Sciences offers a four-year undergraduate program of study in the field of Speech Pathology and Audiology at this time. For more information, please visit the College of Science webpage.
