Goodwill Industries of Kanawha Valley, Inc. {Goodwill} has now reopened a dozen Donation Centers throughout the state. Goodwill Donation Centers, located behind the company’s retail stores, are ‘No-Touch’ donation areas, open from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm seven days a week.
Using CDC best practices, the facilities are ‘No-Touch.’ Donors should separate donations into two categories: Textile/Clothing and Housewares. Place donations directly into one of the two label bins outside the Donation Center. A posted email is available for donors who would like a donation receipt mailed to a residence or business.
By instituting ‘No-Touch’ Donation Centers, donors can donate in a safe environment certain their donations will support the mission of Goodwill. Goodwill staff are following CDC and local health guidelines while wearing appropriate PPE.
Collecting and processing donations into sellable merchandise assists the organization’s mission of providing job skills and opportunities to people with employment barriers.
During this unprecedented time, the community and the Goodwill team have adapted and managed commendably with daily stressors and difficulties. We are looking forward to seeing our Goodwill friends and families again soon.
