Mon General Hospital today was the recipient of two national awards for excellence in healthcare marketing. The winning ad campaign was created by their agency InnerAction Media, a Morgantown, West Virginia based media marketing firm.
The Thirtieth Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards, sponsored by Healthcare Marketing Report, received nearly 4,000 entries in this years competition, making the awards the largest healthcare advertising awards competition and one of the 10th largest of all advertising awards.
A national panel of judges were engaged in reviewing all entries based on creativity, quality, message effectiveness, consumer appeal, graphic design and overall impact.
The award-winning marketing campaign “Better. Together.” centers around the concept of bringing together the physical hospital and all of the many attributes of technology, new features and benefits with the outstanding legacy of quality physicians, nurses and staff. Mon General received the “Gold Award” for the radio ad campaign and a “Merit Award” for the Television ad campaign. The Gold level is the highest recognition awarded.
A key strategic component of the campaign was the integration of new hospital spokesperson Mary Lou Retton. Ms. Retton is a world-class athlete and former USA Olympic gold medalist. She was born and raised in Fairmont, West Virginia – which is in the heart of the competitive hospital landscape in North Central West Virginia. The radio and television commercials also feature a new original music jingle “Better. Together.” also written and produced by InnerAction Media.
Gold awards were bestowed to 247 entries and silver awards went to 241 entries. Additionally, bronze awards were given to 235 entries.

The Healthcare Advertising Awards is the oldest, largest and most widely respected healthcare advertising awards competition.
