Wheeling’s only craft beer is now available at select area establishments. Basement Brewery, the brewchild of Wheeling home distillers Chad Hill, Jimmy Schulte and Dave Cornett is now in business and serving up suds.
“We’re hoping that local beer lovers will enjoy our efforts and support our new craft beer which you can now get on draft at several local pubs,” said Hill, who is a resident of historic North Wheeling.
Basement Brewery varieties are available on tap at Generations Restaurant and Pub at 336 National Raod and the Market Vines at 2251 Market Street. It will soon be available at Metropolitan Grill at 1201 Chapline Street.
Beer lovers will also be able to purchase the beer by the bottle soon to enjoy at home. Bottles will be available at Casa di Vino, 2261 Market Street, where there will be retail inventory in the near future.
Currently, Basement Brewery has released to the public two varieties of beer-a light beer called Main Street and Rat’s Ass brew, a double IPA. Other beers, including a porter are coming soon.
“These are two of our most successful brews. We’ve tested the market and beer lovers have enjoyed tasting them at craft brewing events. We are pleased to offer them to Wheeling, historically a strong beer marketplace. We look forward to hearing from more local beer fans and await their comment,” said Hill.
Basement Brewery also will make an appearance at the Centre Market Wing Festival from 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. on Saturday June 8.
It will also be served at the upcoming 4th Annual Good Zoo Brew, from 7 – 10 p.m. on Saturday June 29. As fundraiser for Good Zoo, this event also offers a wide variety of beer, snacks and is sponsored by Ohio Valley Connect.
