The U.S. Small Business Administration is pleased to announce that Pat O’Neil has accepted the position of Lead Economic Development Specialist with the West Virginia District Office. In the position O’Neil will oversee a team focused on enhancing the awareness of SBA programs and services in West Virginia.
O’Neal, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, has relocated to West Virginia from Florida where he practiced law for 15 years, was active in rural economic development for nine years, and participated in local government for six years. Most recently O’Neal served as City Commissioner and Mayor of Cedar Key and owned his own business. O’Neal earned a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Arkansas and received his law degree from the University of Florida.
O’Neal brings to West Virginia leadership in economic development as he served as the Vice Chairman of the Board for the North Florida Broadband Authority and as the Executive Director of the Nature Coast Business Development Authority.
“I am excited for this next chapter in my life,” says O’Neal. “West Virginia is a state of opportunity and I look forward to making a difference in the economic growth.”
Judy McCauley, SBA’s West Virginia district director, states “Pat has a very diverse background and we are pleased to have him join the team. His experience will give our office depth and allow for further education of SBA programs,” McCauley says.
