West Liberty University welcomes Mary Henderson-Stucky to the Concert Artist Series held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, in Elbin Auditorium located inside of College Hall. It is free and open to the public.
“Please join us for a most enjoyable and unique concert experience, as world-renowned mezzo-soprano, Mary Henderson-Stucky is accompanied by her husband, Rodney Stucky, on both lute and guitar,” said Gerald Lee, associate professor of music in the College of Arts and Communication.
“From the Renaissance songs of John Dowland through fascinating 20th-century repertoire, their concert program displays a wide variety of musical styles. Please don’t miss this special, opening event for the WLU 2013-14 Concert Artist Series.”
Henderson-Stucky is a professor of voice and head of the voice department at the College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati. She studied at the Eastman School of Music and the University of Cologne.

They have also performed at the École Normale de Musique and the Conservatoire Supérieure in Paris, France and at the Caribbean resort, Maroma, in Quintana Roo, Mexico.
Their repertoire spans the gamut of 16th century lute and vihuela (Plucked stringed instrument of Spain) songs to 20th century music for voice and guitar.
The couple has been active in commissioning and inspiring new works for voice and guitar, one of which was given its world premiere at a Guitar Foundation of America International Festival.
