Eleanor Jones, president of the Berkeley Medical Center Auxiliary, recently announced the names of eight recipients of the 2014 Landis Health Professions Scholarship.  Each of the students has been awarded a $1000 scholarship to the college they will be attending this fall.

Five of the recipients are graduating seniors while three are re-applicants from previous years.  The five new recipients are Martinsburg High School Seniors Paige Barker and Jada Brown, Musselman High School Senior Adam Hull, and Hedgesville High School Seniors Claire Linton and Lauren Linton.   Recipients from previous years receiving scholarships again this year include Searra Carter, Kristen Kirkpatrick, and Emily Kline.

The Landis Scholarship program was established by the Berkeley Medical Center Auxiliary in 2003 as a result of an endowment from the Virginia Landis Estate. The scholarship is given to qualified and selected students from the three Berkeley County Public High Schools attending college majoring in one of the following health professions – nursing, pre-med, pharmacy, and dentistry.
