West Virginia University at Parkersburg has named Alice Harris, CPA, its new vice president of finance and administration. She officially began in her new role on July 1. She is responsible for the college’s financial operations and for oversight of campus maintenance and development, risk management and insurance, space planning and construction, human resources and management, and facilities and grounds operations.
“We are so thrilled to have Alice join our team,” said Dr. Rhonda Tracy, interim president for WVU Parkersburg. “She brings experience and knowledge to this position that will be valuable as we transition to a new structure for our administrative services at the college.”
Harris holds a bachelor of business administration from Marshall University and is licensed as a certified public accountant (CPA). She was most recently an accountant for the U.S. Treasury, Bureau of Fiscal Services in Parkersburg.
From 2001 to 2013, she ran her own full-service audit and accounting firm, providing a full range of accounting, tax and consulting services to businesses, nonprofit organizations and individuals in the Mid-Ohio Valley. From 1989 to 2001, Harris was a partner for Runyon Kersteen Ouellette Certified Public Accountants and Business Consultants in South Portland, Maine.
Harris is active in the community and has served on the Mid-Ohio Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Trustees and was treasurer for the Parkersburg Rotary Club for six years. During her time in Maine, she served the American Diabetes Association in multiple capacities and was also treasurer for the Portland School of Ballet and Southern Maine Emergency Medical Services.
