Kanawha Valley residents who are 50 or older and unemployed are invited to attend a BACK TO WORK 50+ Information Session on Wednesday, August 6, at BridgeValley Community and Technical College, Union Carbide Drive, South Charleston. The session is scheduled from 9 – 11:00 a.m. in Room 006.
Attendees will learn about effective job search strategies for people over 50 and meet with community organizations that provide job search help and employment resources. The session will highlight in-demand jobs like medical front office staff and pharmacy technicians. Job candidates will learn strategies for creating impressive personal marketing tools, successfully completing job applications and job interviews, and options for local networking. Options for new job skills training will be discussed. Attendees may sign up to receive small group and one-on-one personal coaching from college personnel. Refreshments will be provided.
