Mark A. Gooch, President and CEO of Community Trust Bank, is pleased to announce that Clovis B. Lawless has been promoted to the position of President of the Summersville Market.
Clovis Lawless was formerly a Commercial Loan Officer at Community Trust Bank’s Summersville, West Virginia office located at 507 Main Street. Clovis’ responsibilities include providing consumer, residential, and commercial lending options to new and existing client relationships by providing financial solutions to individuals and businesses in West Virginia as well as overseeing the daily operations of Community Trust Bank in the Summersville Market. He has more than 29 years of banking experience.
Clovis graduated from Bluefield State College in Bluefield, West Virginia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He is also a graduate of the West Virginia School of Banking. In 2012 Clovis Lawless received the “Financial Services Champion of the Year” award from the West Virginia Small Business Administration (SBA). In 2011 he received the “Friend of Business” award from the West Virginia SBA Women’s Business Center.
He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Summersville Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Scholarship Committee. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Carnegie Hall in Lewisburg, West Virginia where he serves on the Special Events and Finance Committees. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of Summersville, West Virginia and is active with youth soccer in the Beckley area. Clovis resides in Daniels, West Virginia with his wife Lisa and two children, Brennan and Camryn.
