Kanawha Valley residents who are 50 or older and unemployed are invited to attenda BACK TO WORK 50+ Information Session hosted by BridgeValley Community and Technical College. On Wednesday, November 5, the session will be held at the South Charleston campus on Union Carbide Drive, South Charleston, 9 – 11:30 a.m. in Room 006. On Thursday, December 4, a session will be held at the Montgomery Campus, 619 2nd Avenue, Montgomery in Davis Hall, Room 403, from 1:00 – 3:30 p.m.
Attendees will learn about proven, effective job search strategies for people over 50 and discover community organizations that provide resources to help you stay strong while you look for employment. Options for new job skills training will be discussed, highlighting in-demand jobs like medical front office staff and pharmacy technicians. Job candidates who attend the session can sign up for small group and one-on-one personal coaching from college personnel where they can create impressive personal marketing tools, successfully complete job applications and build confidence for networking and job interviews. Refreshments will be provided.
