The Buckskin Council of the Boy Scouts of America will host a “University of Scouting” event at West Virginia State University (WVSU) Saturday, March 28, beginning at 8 a.m. with check-in on the second floor of Ferrell Hall. The daylong event offers youth the ability to accomplish many of the merit badges needed in order to earn the rank of Eagle Scout.
Youth can participate in courses such as animal science, chemistry, digital technology, engineering, and fish and wildlife management. Courses will also be offered for adult volunteers interested in becoming Scout leaders. More than 300 youth and adult volunteers are expected to attend. The day’s activities are expected to conclude by 4:30 p.m.
The Buckskin Council region consists of several central and southern West Virginia counties, as well as some areas of Ohio, Kentucky and Virginia.
