Greater Morgantown CVB Wins Top Tourism Marketing Awards

The Greater Morgantown Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) earned two top awards during the Governor’s Conference on Tourism held October 9th at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center in Shepherdstown, W.Va. The GMCVB was awarded “Stars of the Industry” honors for Best Overall Marketing Campaign and Best Website. “We are honored to be recognized by our peers in the tourism industry for our marketing efforts,” said Peggy Myers-­‐Smith, GMCVB President/CEO. “We realize visitors are drawn to this area for an outstanding destination experience and the award‐winning marketing gives our message more impact!” “Stars of the Industry” awards honor tourism entities and the work they are doing in the state. The “Best Overall Marketing Campaign” award is given to the organization that uses the most imaginative and innovative marketing. “Best Website” is awarded to the organization that best promotes that tourism entity with the use of creative content, captivating imagery and innovative online features. The West Virginia Governor’s Conference on Tourism is an annual event that brings together partners in the state tourism industry. The three‐day event features speakers and workshops that will help partners grow their industry.
