In an effort to grow their communities, several universities in the Mountain State have created new centers downtown. Marshall University, University of Charleston (UC) and West Virginia State University (WVSU) have all recently opened one of these spaces and hope that in doing so, they can generate a wide range of benefits for both the campus and the downtown area.
Much of West Virginia’s charm lies in its rural communities, where thousands of hardworking and dedicated citizens reside. Despite this, many of those areas are struggling with economic hardships and limited access to essential resources.
West Virginia is becoming a major hub for new business ventures. Organizations on a local, national and international scale are choosing the Mountain State as a location to build and expand their companies.
Over the last few years, an undercurrent of change has been flowing through West Virginia’s economy. Industry and government leaders have recognized the need to diversify in this proud energy state and several sectors have received much-needed investment, creating a renewed sense of hope and possibility.
Many companies in West Virginia have been around for decades and thus have long provided the Mountain State and beyond with essential products and services.
