The city of Buckhannon is poised to pop in a 21st century kind of way, thanks to a town-and-gown collaboration between West Virginia Wesleyan College (WVWC) and JesterLine Gaming Technologies that gives the city a double shot at making its mark on the technology map—and it all starts downtown.
Positions in the cyber security industry are on track to become the jobs of the future. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the growth rate for jobs in information security is projected at 37 percent through 2022. This demand for the industry comes from an increase in cyber attacks and the need for information security in an ever-increasing technological world.
“Be a game changer.” That is the slogan of a new statewide collaborative initiative launching in September to bring fresh awareness to the importance of prevention, education, compassionate treatment and employment opportunities when it comes to helping West Virginians overcome the opioid crisis.
