The Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), in partnership with the East End Family Resource Center (EEFRC) Senior Program is recruiting people to become Charleston ambassadors. Volunteer ambassadors will engage in varied activities to enhance the visitor’s experience in Charleston, such as staffing a welcome table at the airport during large conventions or assisting with CCVB events.
Many discover this opportunity helps them to realize more about themselves and their community.
“This is one of the best experiences I’ve ever had,” said ambassador Jay Glenn. “I learned so much that I didn’t know about Charleston and had a great time with the other volunteers.”
Ambassadors play a crucial role – sometimes they may be the first individuals to interact with visitors in our area. Charleston officials recognize how important this first impression may be.
“Our ambassadors roll out the welcome mat and show visitors the best Charleston has to offer—its friendly people,” said CVB CEO Alisa Bailey. “By enhancing the visitors’ experience we ensure that they will come back to Charleston again and again.”
To learn more and enroll in this exciting new program come to the EEFRC at Roosevelt, 502 Ruffner Avenue, Charleston at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16.
