A team of students from across the state will make announcements regarding the first Young WV Power Building Conference this fall. The student-led conference will address voter engagement, racial justice, mental health, college readiness, LGBT advocacy and more on Marshall University’s Huntington campus.
In addition to workshops, the fall conference will feature the Young WV Policy Challenge, a process in which young people submit and present policy ideas for the upcoming Legislature; a Young WV Professional Networking event hosted by Generation WV; and Young WV Awards presented to an inaugural class of young leaders who are making a difference in their communities and state.
Young WV co-chair and recent graduate from South Charleston High School Gabriella Cipollone said, “The youth are such an important asset to WV. At the Young WV Conference, they will not only get to advocate for what they are passionate about, but also they’ll learn how to do so in a fun and creative environment. It’s exciting!”
