Clear Mountain Bank has announced that Jeffrey Smith has been named to the position of chief financial officer (CFO), effective January 1, 2019.
Smith has held the position of controller for Clear Mountain Bank since 2013. Roger Metheny, former CFO of Clear Mountain Bank, will remain with the bank as an executive vice president, and will transition into the capacity of being a special advisor to the bank. Metheny will also continue to serve on the board of directors for Clear Mountain Bank and State Bancorp, Inc, as well as the bank’s loan committee and various other committees.

Smith has more than 28 years’ experience working in the financial industry. Prior to working at Clear Mountain Bank, Smith was the CFO for Glenmark Holding, LLC and Senior Accountant for Arnett and Foster, CPA.
Thomas added, “We have been planning for this transition for quite some time, and I’m extremely confident that Jeff is ready to take on this important role for our bank. Jeff is bright and forward-thinking, and the experience he has gained over the last several years working alongside someone as talented and knowledgeable as Roger is invaluable.”
Smith is a graduate of West Virginia University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. Smith has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1989. He is both a member of the American Institute and West Virginia Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He resides in Morgantown with his family.
