University Healthcare and the WVU Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center Eastern Division will sponsor a community mini-medical school program on colon cancer.
The seminar titled Colon Cancer…Let’s Talk About It will be held on Tuesday, March 17 at 7 p.m. in the WVU Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center on the Berkeley Medical Center campus. Prevention measures for colon cancer will be discussed along with the latest medical/surgical treatments.
The guest speakers are Terrence Reidy, MD, hematologist/oncologist/internist with University Tuscarora Primary Care in Martinsburg and Jason Turner, MD, general surgeon with University Surgical Associates – Berkeley. Both physicians are on the medical staff at Berkeley Medical Center, and serve as assistant professors at the WVU School of Medicine.
Registration begins at 6:30 p.m. with the program to follow from 7-8 p.m. Tours of Katin Radiation Therapy located in the McCormack Center on the Berkeley Medical Center campus, will be offered following the presentation.
This community mini-medical school program is being offered free to the public as a community service of University Healthcare and the WVU Health Sciences Center Eastern Division.
