Ronald McDonald House Charities across the country will celebrate the annual Day of Change on October 15, 2018. The occasion commemorates the opening of the first Ronald McDonald House and highlights how McDonald’s donation boxes play an integral role in raising funds needed to keep families of critically ill children close.

“You might think that dropping some spare change in a donation box isn’t that impactful, but it takes just one small act of kindness to make a difference for the families we serve,” said Ronald McDonald House of Southern West Virginia’s Executive Director Dewayne Dickens. “Our House received $30,000 from canister donations over the course of last year, and we received a large portion of that during Day of Change.”

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern West Virginia, will be at McDonald’s locations in Kanawha City (3303 MacCorkle Ave SE, Charleston) from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. and Southridge (2535 Mountaineer Blvd, South Charleston) from 4 p.m.–7 p.m. on October 15 to encourage and thank McDonald’s employees and customers for their donations and support.

Day of Change 2017 raised more than $54 million for Ronald McDonald House Charities world-wide.
