The Endless Wall Trail in the New River Gorge National River recreation area has won top honors in USA Today’s Readers’ Choice contest for “Best National Park Hike.” The 10Best park hikes list will be featured in USA Today’s April 3 print and online editions.
The Endless Wall Trail derives its name from a rock formation popular with rock climbers. The 2.4 mile moderate hike winds through forest and along the canyon rim, offering vistas of the New River Gorge. Hikers often can hear the voices of whitewater rafters in the New River nearly 1,000 feet below.
USA Today called on a panel of hiking experts, with extensive knowledge of hiking and outdoor recreation across the nation, to select their 20 favorite national park hikes in the United States. The 10Best list was chosen by public vote on USA Today’s website. The 10Best winners are posted here.
