Fall Festival on the Quad at West Virginia State University Celebrates Food, Arts and Music

The inaugural Fall Festival on the Quad (F2Q) will take place on the campus of West Virginia State University (WVSU) Sunday, Sept. 18, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will feature fine dining, craft beers and wine served picnic style along with live music, as well as student and professional artisans.

Food for F2Q will be provided by Bluegrass Kitchen and Café Cimino, while craft beer and wines will be provided by Big Timber Brewery, Chestnut Brew Works, Hawk Knob Cidery and The Wine Shop at Capitol Market.

Throughout the afternoon event, music will be provided by area musicians Jonathan Tucker and Mark Scarpelli as well as Christopher Vincent of Qiet. Additional performances include the WVSU Jazz Ensemble, the WVSU Brass Quintet, the WVSU Woodwind Ensemble and the WVSU Yellow Jacket Swarm Marching Band.

In addition to the music, the WVSU Extension Service will be conducting gardening demonstrations as well as demonstrations on salsa making.

Also, during the festival, four local artists will be creating works of art that will be available for purchase through an auction beginning at 3:45 p.m.

Tickets are on sale now online at https://connect.wvstateu.edu/f2q and start at a picnic package for two for $150. In addition to the freshly prepared meal and two beverages of their choice, all participants will receive a commemorative glass.

All proceeds from F2Q benefit a scholarship fund for West Virginia State University students.
