Frost Brown Todd’s (FBT) focus on diversity earned the law firm both the first-ever Compass Award and the Top Performer Award from the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD). The Top Performer honor member organizations that are the most active in support of the LCLD’s mission to attract, inspire and nurture diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. The Compass Award recognizes LCLD member organizations that give the greatest amount of support to the LCLD mission and programs. “Since its inception, LCLD has recognized change is most likely to happen when it’s embraced and driven by top management,” said FBT’s Diversity and Inclusion committee chair Steve Ellcessor. “We have been fortunate at FBT to have had leaders who recognize the need for and value of both diversity and inclusion. We appreciate these awards and view them not merely as an acknowledgement of past efforts on our firm’s part, but also as spurs to continue our efforts and improve our results.”
LCLD includes 300 members united by a spirit of activism and a personal commitment to prepare future generations of diverse talent for the highest positions of leadership. Of those members, only 62 received the Top Performer Award, and 62 earned the Compass Award. Only 27 earned both.
