Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin today announces U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) grants his request for a Physical Disaster Declaration. The declaration makes low-interest loans available for residents and businesses who suffered damages from severe storms occurring June 12 and June 19, 2013 in Roane County.
“With these low-interest loans our families and entrepreneurs can better repair and replace their damaged property and I encourage those affected by the severe weather to apply,” Gov. Tomblin says. “I’m grateful for the SBA’s quick action to bring much needed financial help to West Virginians in need and I appreciate Senators Rockefeller, Manchin and Congresswoman Capito for their support of my request.”
Residents and business owners located in Roane, Calhoun, Clay, Jackson, Kanawha and Wirt counties may apply for the U.S. SBA loans. The types of loans available include home disaster loans, business physical disaster loans, and economic injury disaster loans. Loan amounts and terms are set by the SBA and are based on each applicant’s financial condition.
Applicants may apply online using the Electronic Loan Application (ELA) via SBA’s secure website at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela.
