Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin is encouraging all West Virginians to nominate outstanding individuals, families and organizations for the 2016 Governor’s Service Awards.
“The annual Governor’s Service Awards are a wonderful opportunity to recognize those who dedicate countless hours of their time to help those in need and build a brighter future for West Virginia,” Gov. Tomblin said. “I encourage all of our state residents to take time to nominate a West Virginian or a group of West Virginians who have gone above and beyond to serve their communities and our state.”
The Governor’s Service Awards are awarded in conjunction with Volunteer West Virginia, the state’s Commission for National and Community Service, and recognize outstanding individuals, families and organizations for extraordinary service and commitment to their communities.
This year’s award winners will be recognized at the Culture Center in Charleston on September 6. Nomination forms are available online at www.volunteerwv.org or by calling 304-345-0111. Nominations should be submitted online or postmarked by May 6.
