U.S. Small Business Administration’s West Virginia Director Judy McCauley recently announced that Huntington National Bank has been named as the SBA West Virginia Lender of the Year.
The lending institution provided funding for 72 West Virginia small businesses in fiscal year 2011 for just over $8.8 million through SBA’s guaranteed loan program. The 72 loans represented over 38 percent of the total West Virginia SBA guaranteed loan volume for the fiscal year.
“Huntington Bank is an excellent example of a lender that has made a commitment to becoming the number one SBA lender in West Virginia and is working extremely hard at becoming the top SBA lender in the country,” says McCauley. “The SBA and small business community greatly appreciates the support Huntington has demonstrated for entrepreneurship in West Virginia when it is most needed.”
Huntington has provided funding through the SBA guaranteed loan program to 179 West Virginia small businesses totaling just over $19 million over the past four years.
“Huntington is proud to be the leading SBA lender in West Virginia,” says Craig Street, director of SBA lending for Huntington. “Our great partnership with the SBA continues to enable Huntington to keep capital flowing to West Virginia small business owners.”
Huntington National Bank will be recognized at the 2012 West Virginia Small Business Week awards luncheon on Wednesday, May 30, held in conjunction with the 2012 Teaming to Win Conference.
