Nothing says summer fun like the Fourth of July holiday. Stonewall Resort in Lewis County will offer activities the whole family will enjoy Independence Day weekend, July 4-6, 2014, including live music and fireworks.
Steve Ludwig, director of sales and marketing at Stonewall Resort, said, “This year’s musical entertainment will be West Virginia’s own Wyatt Turner, who will be performing on the lawn at the Roanoke Activity Plaza at 7 p.m. Saturday July 5th.”
Ludwig said that guests won’t want to miss the performance by Wyatt, a Pocahontas County native. “Wyatt appears to be on his way to the top in Nashville and was just selected to appear on season three of ‘The Voice.’ His hit single, ‘You Remind Me of West Virginia,’ went viral last fall and continues to make its way into the spotlight.”
The live concert, presented by EQT, will be followed by a fireworks show over Stonewall Jackson Lake. The fireworks show will take place at approximately 9:45 p.m. Both the concert and fireworks are open to the public with a $5 per car park entrance fee.
For guests staying overnight at the resort, Little Sorrel, the resort’s excursion boat, will offer tours of Stonewall Jackson Lake throughout the weekend. Canoes, kayaks and other watercraft are available and offer a great way to explore the lake or to do some fishing.
The Palmer Signature Golf Course has tee times available; however, guests should call in advance to make reservations.
