To achieve greatness, society relies on individuals who are willing to inspire change and movement toward a better vision. These changemakers can be found across the country, and West Virginia is no exception. In fact, many young professionals promote success and prosperity in the marvelous Mountain State. West Virginia Executive (WVE) magazine works to illuminate these incredible individuals by recognizing 10 remarkable leaders with its Young Guns honors program each year.
These leaders represent a variety of industries and use their passion to create opportunities and inspire others. Each Young Gun is chosen for their boundless dedication toward driving West Virginia forward. Not only are they leaders in their respective careers, but they have reputations of excellence and service to their communities.
All 10 members of the Class of 2022 have made a positive impact, which has caused a ripple effect through varying cities and across the state. Whether it be through volunteering at their local food bank or serving on a nonprofit board of directors, Young Guns commit to changing their community for the better.
Each Young Guns class is just as impressive as the last. Thanks to the many nominations and strict criteria candidates must meet, this year’s class consists of exceptional individuals who are making a noticeable impact. Honorees must have lived and worked in West Virginia for at least two years, be 43 years of age or younger at the time of selection and have excelled in their career while maintaining an active role in their communities.
This year’s Young Guns photoshoot took place at locations designed by Edward Tucker Architects. The Huntington-based firm has a 25-year history of creating spaces that inspire, innovate and transform their industry—much like the Young Guns themselves. The company marked this anniversary with groundbreaking projects, including Stephen J. Kopp Hall at Marshall University, the Mountain Health Arena and Highlawn Elementary School.
“We believe our firm offers superior service and accessibility to our clients, and we have built a reputation for conscientiousness and design excellence that has helped us recruit and retain amazing professionals,” says Phoebe Patton Randolph, principal. “We are all honored to have the opportunity to provide much-needed services and enhance the region that we call home.”
In recognition of their excellent efforts, WVE is proud to present the Young Gun Class of 2022. If you know a leader who is making an impact in their industry and community, nominate them for next year’s class of Young Guns. Nominations are accepted year-round and can be submitted here.
