Since 1996, Leadership Harrison has provided more than 300 local business people with an invaluable and dynamic leadership development program. Participants engage in face-to-face discussions with experts and key decision-makers in areas of vital concern to Harrison County. Each participant will gain the following:
- Enhanced personal leadership and professional development skills
- A lasting network of professional peers
- Connection with prominent leaders of the business and civic community
- Opportunities to become more informed about public policy issues impacting local business
- Become a more significant asset to their employer and community
Sessions are held the second Friday of the month from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., September-May. Each session is designed to encourage participants to get involved not only as a class but as leaders in the community. Sessions will be designed around competencies, including personal development, communication, adaptability, life balance, facilitating teams, task management, developing others, delegating, corporate social responsibility and networking.
Activities will include personality profiling and team building, group community service project, and a mock council session. Discussions will be held on ethics, time management, planning, effective communication and generational differences, difficult conversations, and healthy lifestyle.
In addition to training, participants will also hear industry updates from various sectors of the Harrison County economy including our aerospace industry, natural resources, government, health-care, and tourism, as well as our non-profit organizations. The program also includes a regional session combined with Leadership Marion and Leadership Monongalia.
The enrollment fee for the program is $495 for Chamber members and $595 for non-members. The non-member fee includes membership for the participant during the Leadership program. Class is limited. Payment in full is due by August 31st.
