Mark A. Robinson, budget director at Marshall University since March 2013, has been named interim senior vice president for finance at Marshall, President Jerome Gilbert announced today.
Robinson replaces Mary Ellen Heuton, who resigned to accept the position of vice president for business affairs/treasurer at the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Ala., effective Aug. 20.
Gilbert said Marshall, which will conduct a national search to replace Heuton, is in good hands under Robinson’s leadership.
“In his current position, Mark has worked closely with Mary Ellen and has a deep understanding of the university finances and budget,” Gilbert said. “I am confident he will be an effective leader during the transition.”
Robinson said, “I am honored to be asked to serve Marshall University in this capacity and look forward to working with our finance team to continue building on the initiatives that Mrs. Heuton implemented during her tenure.”
Before coming to Marshall, Robinson was the executive director of business operations at the University of Miami School of Business Administration in Coral Gables, Florida.
He received his MBA from the University of Miami School of Business Administration, and his B.S. in Business Administration/Accounting, with a minor in Economics, from Fairmont State University.
