The Greater Morgantown Convention and Visitors Bureau and Triple S Harley-Davidson will host a stop during the 5th Annual Motorcycle Cannonball 2016 Race of the Century at the Harley-Davidson dealership in Morgantown, W.Va. The riders will arrive at Triple S on Sunday, Sept 11th around 4 p.m. The motorcycles and their riders will be available for approximately two hours for public view and interaction. Riders represent 26 states, as well as the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, England, Poland, Italy, Scotland, Australia, France and South Africa.
“These motorcycles are all makes,” said Cliff Sutherland of Triple S Harley-Davidson. “To qualify for the event riders are required to have a 100-year-old motorcycle and only 100 riders are chosen to participate. It’s an awesome event open to the public and we’re excited to host it here at Triple S.”
Triple S Harley-Davidson is located on Willie G Avenue adjacent to Interstate 79 at Exit 155 in Star City.
The pre-1917 motorcycles will leave Atlantic City, N.J. on Sept 10th for a 16-day ride to San Diego, Calif. Some of the riders are:
Pat and Cris Simmons. Pat is the co-founder, songwriter, guitarist and vocalist for The Doobie Brothers. Cris started Harley Women magazine and has written and editorialized for American Iron, Iron Works, Easy Rider, V Twin and Hot Bike Japan. She has been inducted into the AMA Motorcycle and Sturgis Motorcycle Halls of Fame. Pat is also a sustaining member of the Motorcycle Riders Foundation (MRF) and Motor Maids (former President). She has written more than 12 songs with her husband, Pat.
Scott and Sharon Jacobs. Scott is one of the authorized Harley-Davidson fine art painters, recently seen on The Secret Millionaire. His work is on display at Triple S.
Jeff Decker, who creates vintage motorcycle bronzes and designed the bronze piece that sits in front of the Harley-Davidson Museum. Triple S houses Jeff’s artwork as well.
Licensed Harley-Davidson artist David Uhl will make a rare appearance on Saturday, Sept. 10th and Sunday, Sept. 11th. During his visit, David will be painting and providing insight on his works. He will also personally dedicate each piece that is purchased over the weekend.
David’s original oil paintings were the trophies for the inaugural Cannonball in 2010. His painting career spans 18 years, during which he has created hundreds of beautiful works that capture the rich heritage of Harley-Davidson. Displayed throughout the world, his fine art prints and original oil paintings are sought after by motorcycling enthusiasts, celebrities and serious art collectors alike. His latest release, “The Diva” was his quickest print edition sell-out ever — 200 prints sold in one day!
Triple S Harley-Davidson is home to the world’s largest collection and display of David’s work. This collection consists of four original oils (including the famous “Willie G” and “The Enthusiast”), 12 hand-embellished pieces and over 50 signed and numbered prints. During his visit, David will paint and provide insight on his art. For more information visit uhlstudios.com.
