Producers of “Mountain Stage with Larry Groce” have confirmed more guests for its upcoming run of shows in Charleston at the Culture Center Theater. A limited number of Fall Access Ticket Packs” are still available at MountainStage.org and Taylor Books in Downtown, Charleston. The ticket pack includes one ticket to all five shows- October 5, 12, 19, 26 and November 2- for $60. Tickets for each show are available individually online and at Taylor Books, 226 Capitol Street in Charleston.
Just added to the line-up for Sunday, October 5 will be Puss N Boots, a new trio featuring Norah Jones, Sasha Dobson and Catherine Popper. Their debut album, “No Fools, No Fun”, is out now and the group recently appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” in support of the release. Also scheduled to appear October 5 are roots group The Duhks, producer/songwriter/guitarist Blake Mills, Canadian jazz singer Jill Barber and emerging songwriter Curtis McMurtry.
On Sunday November 2, “Mountain Stage” will welcome The Devil Makes Three, a “raw and raucous” trio that has recently appeared at the Newport Folk Festival, Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza. Their fourth album, and first for New West Records, “I’m a Stranger Here,” was produced by Buddy Miller and recorded at the studio of The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach. The album’s sound is described as “garage-y ragtime, punkified blues, old n’ new timey without settling upon a particular era.”
Also scheduled to appear November 2 are topical songwriter James McMurtry and rising duo Lily and Madeleine.
Other recent additions to “Mountain Stage” bills this fall are recent Americana Music Award nominee for Album, Artist and Song of the year Robert Ellis (October 12), “Angel of the Morning”/”Wild Thing” songwriter Chip Taylor (October 19), and Irish duo Storyman, (October 26). Formerly known as Guggenheim Grotto, Storyman is currently touring the US with Ingrid Michaelson and are featured on her recent single, “You Got Me.”
All shows are at the Culture Center Theater, 1900 Kanawha Blvd. Charleston, WV. Doors open at 6:30pm and show time is 7pm. All seats are General Admission.
