The Appalachian Children’s Chorus (ACC) will perform the Ione Guthrie Christmas event, A Patriotic Christmas, Saturday, December 1st, at 7:00 pm at the Charleston Baptist Temple. The concert is sponsored by Children’s Dentistry and Huntington Bank and will include a special guest performance by the Martin Luther King, Jr. Male Chorus. All military patrons will be honored at the event and will be granted free admission.
The concert will be a festive mix of holiday favorites and patriotic songs that were prepared for the choir as part of their special invitation to sing at Pearl Harbor Day commemorative events in Hawaii on December 7, 2018.
“ACC is a special organization to so many children and families in West Virginia,” said Selina Midkiff, Founding and Artistic Director of the Appalachian Children’s Chorus, “and at this time of the year, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to give back by honoring our local veterans and active service members while helping educate youth in our community about the sacrifices that have been made to maintain our freedom.”
Tickets are $12 if purchased before November 25, 2018, or $15 after. Tickets for seniors (60 and over) are $10.
A special invitation is extended to anyone with a military ID for free admission to the concert. This also applies to spouses or partners and children under 18.
All proceeds from the concert will support ACC in its mission to provide artistic excellence, a quality music education, and extraordinary opportunities while creating a positive effect on the lives of West Virginia’s youth.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.wvacc.org or by phone at 304.343.1111. Those with a military ID can call Audrey Pitonak-Goff at 304.343.1111 or email her at audrey@wvacc.org.
