Saint Francis Hospital proudly recognizes Barbara Michael, MD, as the Facility Medical Director for the Hospital Medicine Program.
Dr. Michael has completed all phases of the Emergency Department/Hospital Medicine Integration Program, which is a program that integrates patient care from the Emergency Department through their inpatient stay. Results have found that Core Measures Compliance is higher and Patient Satisfaction scores increase when there is communication and collaboration between the Emergency Department and Hospital Medicine.
Dr. Michael has also been featured in Becker’s Hospital Review in a recent article, “Reducing Readmissions to Reduce Penalties: Where to Begin?” The article features her group’s best practices with interdisciplinary rounds to help transitions of care. The full article can be read at:
