SBA Administrator Karen Mills and American Red Cross President and CEO Gail McGovern will host a press call to discuss emergency preparedness and disaster assistance on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 11 a.m. EDT. June is National Hurricane Preparedness month. Mills and McGovern will discuss ways, including the Red Cross Ready Rating program (www.readyrating.org), in which individuals, families and small businesses can prepare for disasters, among them hurricanes, and apply for disaster loan assistance. Mills also will announce a simplified SBA disaster loan application.
SBA makes low-interest, taxpayer-backed disaster loans to homeowners, renters, businesses and non-profit organizations of all sizes. More information about the disaster assistance program is available at www.sba.gov/disaster.
