Acting Deputy Associate Administrator for the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of Government Contracting and Business Development Ken Dodds hosts a conference call Tuesday, May 22 to discuss the results of the 2017 Small Business Federal Procurement Scorecard.

The annual Scorecard is an assessment tool measuring how well federal agencies achieve their small business and socio-economic prime contracting and subcontracting goals and reports agency-specific progress. The prime and subcontracting component include goals for all small businesses; women-owned small businesses; small, disadvantaged businesses; service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, and small businesses located in Historically Underutilized Business Zones or HUBZones.

“These reports are vital for us to take the pulse of how our small business contractors are faring,” said SBA Mid-Atlantic Regional Administrator Michelle Christian. “With SBA’s Mid-Atlantic Region holding the largest portfolio of government contractors, we rely on this report to help us work with our partner agencies and our small business clients.”

Every fiscal year, SBA works with each agency to set their prime and subcontracting goals. SBA ensures the sum total of all of the goals exceeds targets established by law.
