Hundreds of thousands of businesses and business owners with fewer than 25 full-time equivalent employees have already taken advantage of tax credits covering 35% of their premium contribution, and the maximum tax credit available will rise to 50% in 2014. If you are still confused about the new Health Care Law the U.S. Small Business Administration is hosting a series of webinars to provide an overview of the Affordable Care Act and where and how to access coverage and receive tax credits.
The webinars feature Robin Lester from MAXIMUS. Lester oversees the WV In-Person Assister (IPA) program with IPAs stationed in local Department of Health and Human Resources offices throughout WV. Webinars are scheduled for February 25 and March 14 at 11:00. Registration is required at www.wvscore.org.
“Historically, the health care market has been broken for small businesses. In fact, many small businesses pay as much as 18 percent more than their larger competitors for the same coverage. The Affordable Care Act will help small businesses in two critical ways: by increasing access and offering affordable options,” states Judy McCauley SBA district director. “I encourage all West Virginia small businesses to take advantage of the free webinars being offered and make sure you understand how to access coverage and receive tax credits.”
