The South Charleston Chamber of Commerce will hold its 2nd Annual 5K Wellness Run/Walk on Saturday, April 9, 2016 in downtown South Charleston. Registration starts at 8:00am and the Run will begin at 9:00am. The walkers will begin shortly after the runners start. The race will begin and end in Oakes Field; the course is flat and goes throughout downtown South Charleston.
“The South Charleston Chamber of Commerce 5K Wellness Run/Walk continues the Chamber’s wellness imitative, which encourages a healthy workplace and on a broader scale, a healthy community. Last year, we had a terrific turnout and expect an even larger crowd this year,” stated Chamber Executive Director, Amanda Ream.
Adult registration is $25 if postmarked by April 1, 2016. Adult registration after April 1st and on the morning of the race is $30. Registration for children ages 13 and under is $20. All people that register before April 1st will be guaranteed a t-shirt. This year, the Chamber is offering a special family/team/group discount. Register 4 or more at the same time and receive $5 off each entrant’s fee.
There will be prizes for 1st place male and female in each age category: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49 and 50+. Those individuals who want to participate in the race, but do not want to register online, can download a registration form at the Chamber’s website or Facebook page and mail it in.
