The Thrasher Group, Inc. partnered with Harrison County Schools to prepare and distribute bagged lunches to students across the County this week.
Thrasher employees volunteered their time to put together more than 4,200 bagged lunches for students in need. Each student received an additional meal containing a pepperoni roll, granola bar, fruit, cookie, chips and milk as a supplement to the weekly distribution provided by the school system.
“Making sure that our students don’t go hungry is huge problem in our state that has become critical now that they are out of school due to the COVID-19 pandemic.” said Chad Riley, CEO. “Our people are very generous and community-oriented and wanted to do something to help. I can’t think of a better cause than to make sure the children get regular, nutritious meals during this time. I’m tremendously proud of our team and our partnership with Harrison County Schools.”
Harrison County Schools food distribution sites are open from 10 a.m. until noon each Wednesday. The designated locations are as follows: Adamston Elementary, North View Elementary, Nutter Fort Elementary, Salem Elementary, Bridgeport Middle School, Washington Irving Middle School, Liberty High School, Lincoln, South Harrison, Lumberport Elementary, and Wilsonburg Elementary.
