At its inception, West Virginia Executive (WVE) magazine established an honors program to recognize young leaders who drive the success of the Mountain State. The title of Young Gun is coveted across the state and has inspired thousands of nominations over the course of its history. The Young Guns Class of 2020 marks 20 groups of West Virginia professionals that have been given this elite status. WVE’s Young Guns represent West Virginia’s next generation of leaders who are already accomplishing great things both in the business world and in their communities.

While the more than 270 Young Guns of years past set a high bar, the class of 2020 does not disappoint. An exceptional group of leaders focused on helping West Virginia live up to its potential, the members of this class shine across a variety of industries and are making an authentic impact in their respective communities. Every year choosing only 10 Young Guns becomes more and more difficult, thanks to the number of nominations and the program’s strict criteria. Honorees must have lived and worked in West Virginia for at least two years, be 43 years of age or younger at the time of selection and have excelled in their career while maintaining an active role in their community.

This year’s unique Young Guns photoshoot took place at buildings designed, built and renovated by ZMM Architects & Engineers, an award-winning, Charleston-based architecture and engineering firm with a diverse portfolio and a 60-year history of innovation, including the Valley Park Community Center, Morgantown Readiness Center and Explorer Academy. In honor of the 20th anniversary of Young Guns, WVE hosted the first-ever Young Guns All-Class Reunion on Friday, November 15, at one of the most noteworthy photoshoot locations—the newly renovated Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center. The reunion was a true meeting of the minds where seasoned veterans and new inductees had the chance to network and discuss the state’s bright future.

Without further ado, WVE is proud to present the Young Guns Class of 2020.

If you know a leader who is changing their industry and community for the better, nominate them for next year’s class. Nominations are accepted year-round and can be submitted at www.wvexecutive.com/nominate-a-young-gun.
