The West Virginia Hive Network proudly welcomed three new members to its board of directors in 2024: Amy Baker, vice president of corporate communications and marketing at MVB Bank; Michelle Rotellini, president and CEO of the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce; and Zackary Statler, president of United Bank’s South Market region.

Judy Moore, executive director of the WV Hive and deputy director of the New River Gorge Regional Development Authority (NRGRDA), says, “Amy, Michelle and Zack bring invaluable expertise, experience and passion to our board. Their leadership strengthens our ability to support entrepreneurs and grow businesses in southern West Virginia.”

She says the three regional leaders joined the board in the second half of 2024 to fill seats vacated by outgoing members.

Baker is a community-minded veteran marketing and communications professional who has been at MVB Bank since 2017. A resident of Nicholas County, she was a member of the first cohort of Building Resilient Economies in Coalfield Communities (BRECC), a program of the National Association of Counties and the WV Community Development Hub, representing Richwood, from March 2023 to February 2024. She is a founding member and core team member of The Dreamers community volunteer team in Richwood, a group that continues the work of the Richwood BRECC team. Baker graduated from Marshall University with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism in 1996 and a master’s degree in journalism with an emphasis in public relations in 2000.

From 2002 to 2017, she served as director of marketing at Fairmont State University. Throughout her career, Baker has been active in the communities in which she lives. In Fairmont, she was a member of the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Marion County Board of Directors, the United Way of Marion County Community Review Committee, the Pricketts Fort Memorial Foundation Board of Directors and the Main Street Fairmont Board of Directors. In Harrison County, she was a member of the Monticello West Virginia Community Development Hub Blueprint Communities Team and a volunteer with the Monticello Ongoing Revitalization Effort.

Rotellini, a Beckley native, holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the College of Charleston’s School of Business and Economics. She began her career at Snowshoe Mountain Resort, spending 12 years in sales and marketing and ultimately serving as director of sales. After returning to Beckley with Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Rotellini embraced entrepreneurship by launching a Visiting Angels homecare franchise in 2008 (now Homecare WV), which serves aging populations in five southern West Virginia counties.

In 2013, Rotellini partnered with two of her aunts to open The Dish Café, a farm-to-table restaurant emphasizing non-GMO, scratch-made recipes and locally sourced ingredients. The café, which promotes sustainable, healthy dining, has become the area’s top-rated restaurant on platforms like Yelp and TripAdvisor, earning a 2023 Top 100 in the Country designation from Yelp. Rotellini and her family expanded the business in 2023 by opening Uptown Dish in Beckley.

Dedicated to community service, Rotellini served on the United Way of Southern West Virginia’s board and became its executive director in 2017, overseeing fundraising efforts benefiting more than 45 nonprofits. In 2019, she became president and CEO of the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce, focusing on workforce participation, education and community enhancement. She also serves on several boards, including Active Southern West Virginia, WVU Hospitals and the United Health System Board, to which she was appointed by the governor to a six-year term in 2021.

Zackary Statler brings an entrepreneurial mindset and a client-first approach to his role as president of United Bank’s South Market. A native of Hurricane, WV, Statler began his professional journey in the mining industry before transitioning to banking and finance after earning his degree from WVU in 2014. He joined United Bank in 2015 as a commercial loans operations specialist in Dunbar, quickly showcasing his expertise and dedication. By 2017, Statler was promoted to commercial portfolio manager in Charleston, where he managed the Capital Market portfolio and spearheaded business development initiatives. His exceptional performance led to his promotion to commercial banker and AVP in 2019.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Statler played a critical role in administering the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), earning recognition as United Bank’s top lender in 2021. In February 2022, at just 31 years old, he was named president of United Bank’s South Market in Beckley. In this leadership role, he oversees operations across nine offices, driving growth and fostering strong client relationships throughout southern West Virginia.

Statler’s dedication to his profession and community has earned him notable recognition, including being named to The State Journal’s Generation Next: 40 Under 40 list. Known for building trust and delivering results, Statler continues to combine financial expertise with a passion for empowering clients and supporting the communities he serves.
