Salt Works Tours

J.Q. Dickinson Salt Works spring tours have began. Tour this family farm and see firsthand how they harvest naturally sourced salt from an ancient ocean that is trapped below the Appalachian mountains. Live on the Levee

Charleston’s favorite free live summer concert series returns Memorial Day weekend at Haddad Riverfront Park. Hybrid Soul Project will kickoff the season and a post show fireworks display will follow. For more information, click here.

East End Yard Sale and Foam at the Dome

The East End’s biggest neighborhood yard sale takes place on May 7. Tour the beautiful historic district and take advantage of some great deals from local residents. Afterward, beginning at 4:00 pm, is Foam at the Dome at Laidley Field. There will be over 40 breweries, 150 beers, 20 restaurant vendors and artisans. Spamalot

The Charleston Light Opera Guild will present Spamalot at the Charleston Civic Center Little Theatre throughout the month of May. It’s a new musical lovingly ripped off from the motion picture Monty Python and the Holy Grail. To view showings for this event, click here.

Vandalia Gathering

The Vandalia Gathering will celebrate its 39th year on May 27-29 at the Capitol Complex.  It will be a weekend of celebrating traditional arts, music, dance, stories, crafts and food of West Virginia. For the full schedule and other information, click here.

FestivALL

Kick off FestivALL with a preview weekend May 27-29. The weekend will begin with the first Live on the Levee concert. Saturday will welcome Taste-of-ALL to it’s new location at Four Points by Sheraton and Haddad Riverfront Park, followed by FestivALT, a free concert with Keller Williams and Lindsay Lou and the Flatbellys. Sunday will round out the experience with a live storytelling performance by The MOTH Mainstage at The Clay Center for the Arts & Sciences.  For more information about FestivALL’s preview weekend, click here.

Downtown Streetfest 

Charleston’s free block party takes place on May 21, along Captiol St. between Quarrier and Lee streets. There will be live music, beverages sold onsite, activities for children, pop-up shops and more. For more details, click here.

Cinco de Mayo

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with Mi Cocina de Amor on the west side of Charleston. Grab a blanket or a lawn chair and take a seat in the grass and listen to WTSQ 88.1 FM – The Status Quo – broadcast during the fiesta.
